Wi-Fi repeater equipped with “remote mode” that can limit relay radio waves to the 2.4 / 5.6 GHz band

ELECOM Co. , Ltd. will release the “WTC-C1167GC” series of Wi-Fi repeaters equipped with “outdoor mode” for outdoor use in early February. The price is 7,040 yen. Two body colors are available: black (model number end: -B) and white (same: -W).

Until now, Wi-Fi repeaters do not have a function to explicitly turn off the use of radio waves in the W52 / W53 (5.2 to 5.3GHz) band, which cannot be used outdoors, or even if there is, it takes time to reach the setting. did.

This product is equipped with a “remote mode” that uses only the bands (2.4GHz and 5.6GHz bands) that can be used outdoors for relay radio waves with a single slide switch. As a result, it has become possible to limit the use of radio bands that can be used outdoors to the connection from the router installed in the purlin to the unit installed in a remote house.

The antenna is equipped with a “high power built-in antenna” supervised by the group company DX Antenna. It is said that it has realized highly sensitive communication in all directions without blind spots. The maximum communication speed in the 5GHz band (IEEE 802.11ac / n / a) is 867Mbps, and the maximum communication speed in the 2.4GHz band (IEEE 802.11n / g / b) is 300Mbps.

In addition to supporting band steering, beamforming Z, and MU-MIMO, it also has one Gigabit Ethernet port and can be used as an Ethernet converter. In addition to knowing the radio wave connection status by the LED lighting state, it supports one-touch connection with the WPS button. A design that plugs directly into an outlet is adopted, and the specifications are such that interference is suppressed with two outlets.

The main body size is 62 x 91 x 43 mm (width x depth x height), and the weight is about 125 g.
